MATHxp TUTORING
Revised 6/3/2023
Upon paying for tutoring services, you signify your agreement to be bound by these Terms of Service. Please read these Terms carefully.
This document describes the policies associated with tutoring services provided by a tutor representing MATHxp Tutoring (the “Tutor”) for the benefit of a student of MATHxp Tutoring and his/her/their parents / legal guardians (known collectively as the “Client”). By signing up for tutoring services with MATHxp Tutoring, you are agreeing to these policies.
1. SERVICES. The Tutor is committed to delivering high-quality Math instruction tailored for students in grades six through nine. There are three distinct courses available, each with a unique focus and approach.
a. GROUP COURSES: Group courses are intentionally limited to a maximum of eight students per course. These courses cover specific topics as outlined in the comprehensive course descriptions.
b. ONE-TO-ONE COURSES: The Tutor collaborates with the Client to identify and discuss the skills and topics that require focused attention. The curriculum is customized to address the individual needs and goals of the Client.
c. HOMEWORK HELP: The Tutor provides assistance with assignment-related challenges by addressing the specific topics the Client encounters in their math class. The Tutor will offer guidance and support to help the Client overcome obstacles and achieve academic success.
2. PAYMENT. The Client may pay in full or pay in installments through the Schoolified website. The Tutor will provide an invoice at the time of the Client’s purchase. Current rates for all courses and offerings may be found at https://www.mathxptutoring.com/courses.html.
3. CANCELLATIONS. If the Client is unable to attend a session, please provide notice to the Tutor (by email, phone, or text). A video recording of the unattended session will be provided to the Client. No refunds will be issued. If no notification is given prior to the start of a session, the Client will be contacted at the start of the session.
In an emergency, if the Tutor needs to cancel or reschedule a previously scheduled tutoring session, the Tutor will provide as much notice as possible. The Tutor and the Client will communicate about a date to reschedule the cancelled tutoring session. If the session cannot be rescheduled, the Client will receive a refund for any tutoring session that is canceled by the Tutor.
4. LATE ARRIVALS. Tutoring sessions are assumed to begin at the prearranged start time, and any minutes of session time lost due to late arrival on the part of the student will not be refunded or made up at a later time. If the Tutor is late to a session, the Client may extend the tutoring session to allow for the full prearranged time or add the missed time to a subsequent tutoring session.
5. RESPONSIBILITIES. The Tutor agrees to provide quality math tutoring services that align with the Client’s academic goals and level of understanding. On a weekly basis the Tutor will send the Client a brief summary of the student’s progress. The Tutor commits to maintaining a consistently high standard of professional conduct at all times.
6. CONFIDENTIALITY. The tutor will collect the Client’s contact information and may request the student’s academic information in order to better provide focused and individualized instruction during tutoring sessions. The Tutor will not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer this information to third parties without express approval from the Client, except as required by law or to protect a child’s safety.
7. TERMINATION. Either party may terminate this Agreement at any time by providing written notice to the other party. Any prepaid fees for tutoring sessions not yet conducted will be refunded to the Client.
8. CODE OF CONDUCT. All participants are expected to engage in respectful behavior, actively participate in sessions, maintain professional conduct, follow technology etiquette, and uphold academic integrity. In the event of non-compliance with the Code of Conduct, the Tutor and the Client will engage in communication and work towards reaching an agreement. However, certain circumstances may necessitate the termination of tutoring services.
9. GOVERNING LAW. This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California. Any legal action arising out of or related to this Agreement shall be brought in the courts located in the State of California.
10. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY: MATHxp Tutoring reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. While we will make reasonable efforts to notify you of any changes, it is recommended that you review these terms periodically if you have any concerns or uncertainties.
